life?

  • Jan. 21st, 2008 at 5:56 PM

well im kinda in a wierd spot atm. I am getting a divorce. I moved back to PA for 6 months, and am going to be moving back to DC next month. New car got repo'd, phone is shutoff, bills are due, and im broke. But on the bright side, it can't get any worse.

another 2 months later

I know I need to say something, but im at a loss for words atm....

A lot can happen in 2 months

  • Mar. 28th, 2007 at 9:21 AM

Well, I lost track of time, and here it is about 2 months later.

I cancelled my warcraft account, because me and the wife are having some issues, and need to work through them, so all my free time is being spent elseware.

Maybe in a few months I may start it up again, but for the time being, I am not going to be playing for the next few months.

I started another new job that I absolutely LOVE, im working at a company called Resolvit Resources, doing System administration. Basically I am their IT department, and work on everything from Routers and cabling, to email, and printing.

I am considering a new tatoo, running accross my left shoulder.
Anyone in the DC area that needs a tatoo, check out these guys, they are really good.

I have been working out every morning for the past two weeks and have lost about 2 pounds so far, but it seems like I am loosing more, due to my stomach finally tightening up a little bit.

I haven't had a cigarette in 2 days, and am on new medication called Chantix that is used to help people quite smoking by blocking nicotine from releasing dopamine into your system, so you basically get no rush from cigarettes, and all you get is the nasty taste.

I still want a cigarette, but it looks like the drugs are starting to work.

I have a new favorite band I am listening to.

Thats about it for now.

TOOL ..... quote

  • Jan. 25th, 2007 at 4:17 PM

I saw this on a friends LJ, and just had to put it here, because I love tool so much.

"Prying open my third eye.
So good to see you once again.
I thought that you were hiding.
And you thought that I had run away.
Chasing the tail of dogma.
I opened my eye and there we were."

Thursday post

  • Jan. 25th, 2007 at 3:54 PM

Well, I didn't plan this, but it seems like every Thursday I get the desire to post on here, so I will try to make this a regular thing.

I am still working for fannie mae in Reston, VA... It looks like my job may be falling through, luckily I work for a contracting agency, so they should hopefully be able to find me something once my contract is completed.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to apply for an entry level network engineering position?

And don't give me any crappy answers like... monster, or careerbuilder :)

Not feeling well

  • Jan. 18th, 2007 at 4:07 PM

I have been sick the past 3 days, mostly in my stomach with the occasional headache. My wife thinks it is from me chewing nicorette, and I am starting to think she might be right. But if that is the case, how am I going to quit smoking?

<- addict

  • Jan. 11th, 2007 at 3:19 PM

Well, I have been playing WOW for off and on for about 2 years now, and I would like to think that I am an avid player, but I am not sure how much longer I can keep avoiding the real world. I have so much that I want to do, and I guess I have been putting things off by playing wow.

Anybody have any suggestions on what to do to limit playing? I am luckily not so much of an addict that I am skipping out on work, but I haven't done the dishes in a few weeks...

On another note, Here are some cool WOW links.

Holiday madness

  • Jan. 11th, 2007 at 2:31 PM

I hope everyone had a good Holiday. Gretchen and I went to Florida over the Holiday's. It wasn't too bad, got to play lots of Soduku, and walk on the beach, and swim in a "semi" heated pool. Love the Gulf waters... Unfortunately it was a little too cold in FL, and I had a head cold, so I couldn't go scuba diving.

We also got to visit most of my family up in MD, and PA, and got to spend some much needed time with Matt and Mel. It was really good to see them, and chat about our latest obsession, WOW. I still can't believe how big Sarah is, and how much she is talking.

I downloaded a new christmas album yesterday on Itunes, and can't stop listening to it, because it is so good. If any of you are into Hard Trance Techno, check out the dutch DJ Basshunter at http://www.basshunter.se/.

Sharing stories on LJ

  • Dec. 21st, 2006 at 10:39 PM

Well, last night I had a rant/ story all prepared to be posted on here, and I realized that some people may read it that I didn't want to read it, so I deleted it.....

The problem I have with myself for deleting it, is that I obviously had something to share, because the post was at least 20 paragrahs long....

It felt good to write something to share, even if it was something that no-one else will get to read, it was still a really good feeling just getting things off my chest.

The more I thought about it, the more I think that maybe you guys are bringing it out of me. I remember back in high school we used to write stories all the time, and send them back and forth to each other. I am not sure who all I did this with, but I remember I had alot of fun with it back then.

So if anyone wants to start a writing club or something, let me know.

Later,
Alex

Are you an alcoholic?

  • Dec. 20th, 2006 at 7:12 PM

I had a guy I work with kinda imply that im an alcoholic last night, and since he is kinda a friend of mine, I took it to heart. So I figured I should ask on here. Is having 1 or 2 drinks a week considered alcoholism?

New Car milage

  • Dec. 19th, 2006 at 7:31 PM

Well When I got my new car last Monday, it had 20 miles on it. I managed to put 450 miles on it, in about a week. How the hell did that happen? I mean, I know I drove to DC, and let my wife borrow the car, and I took a trip down to woodbrige, and drove the car to work each day, but I didn't think I drove THAT much.

I guess it adds up way to quickly. I know I put 130000 miles on my last car, in just over 4 years, and I didn't think that was possible.

Farming in WOW

  • Dec. 19th, 2006 at 7:22 PM

Well, I spent 2 hours last night farming felcloth in felwood. I made enough money to buy 10 pieces of felcloth, but I actually only had 3 pieces of it drop. Does that make any sense? I hate the fact that they lowered the drop rate of felcloth, and I think next time, im just going to go farm runecloth, and sell it to the AH for enough cash to buy my own felcloth.... it would be alot easier, and I will be able to get scourgestones for reputation with argent dawn.

On another note, I got my wife to try out WOW the other day, she played for about an hour, and seemed to kind of enjoy it. She even came to me a few days later, and mentioned playing again....

We will see if my evil plan to corrupt my wife is working. I may need to increase the level of toxins in her system.

MUHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Fun on the river

  • Dec. 16th, 2006 at 9:15 PM

Me and the wife took a trip in DC on the river today. Gotta love free christmas parties, where you can drink, dance and pig out, without spending a dime.

New Nintendo WII

  • Dec. 15th, 2006 at 8:26 PM

I recently stood in line for 10 hours on the day of the new Nintendo WII release. I was the first person in line, and froze my butt off, but it was worth it.

I have almost beaten the new Zelda game, and just hooked it up to the internet for the first time last night.

I got a gift card that lets me download games from the net for free.

I forgot how much the original Zelda ROCKED.....

I also forgot how much I loved the old school games...... I mean BONKS REVENGE.... comon, how can it not get any better.

More WOW

  • Dec. 15th, 2006 at 8:16 PM

Well after 2 days of waiting, blizzard finally opened up their character transfers again. So now my character is being transferred to the new server, and I hope it will be completed soon. Those who play, be sure to be online on Sunday morning.... If you dare :).
